we hold to.

These are the commitments that distinguish a safari designed around you from a seat on someone else's itinerary.

A private vehicle

Your own 4x4 and guide for the duration, never shared. When a sighting is worth staying for, the decision is yours.

No fixed departures

We do not sell set-date packages. You give us your travel window and we design the itinerary within it.

Based in East Africa

Kenya is where we live and work. We add Tanzania and Uganda when the itinerary genuinely benefits, not to extend an invoice.

Candid advice

If your dates are wrong for what you hope to see, we will tell you. If an upgrade is not worth the cost, we will say so.

The Big Five

Learn About The Big Five

The term originated with hunters rather than travellers, describing the five most difficult animals to approach on foot. Today it remains the list most first-time visitors hope to complete, so here is what each one involves.

Lion

Lion

The most readily found of the five, and the most often underestimated. They rest for much of the day, so timing your drive well is what matters.

Leopard

Leopard

The most difficult to sight. Solitary, largely nocturnal and superbly camouflaged, most often found resting in the branches of a sausage tree.

Elephant

Elephant

The sighting guests remember most. Amboseli and Tsavo hold the largest herds, and they will frequently pass within metres of the vehicle.

Buffalo

Buffalo

Widely seen but genuinely formidable. Guides pay particular attention to the older solitary bulls.

Rhino

Rhino

The rarest of the five. Lake Nakuru and the northern conservancies offer the best prospects in Kenya.
